Description

MD Engine is a visual game development engine that lets anyone create authentic Sega Mega Drive / Genesis games using drag-and-drop scripting — no programming required.

Games can be exported as real Mega Drive ROMs playable on original hardware and flash carts, or to Web, Windows, Linux, macOS, Android, iOS, and Linux Handhelds — with full Steam integration including achievements.

The engine supports multiple game genres including platformers, shooters, action RPGs, and puzzle games. It features a powerful real-time debugger with insights into palettes, variables, actor coordinates, and event logic.

Developed by Two Black Cats, MD Engine builds on the accessibility philosophy pioneered by GB Studio and brings it to the 16-bit era — giving creators the tools to make games for one of the most beloved consoles ever made.
